Why is the Donorinfo Foundation unique in the field of providing information on philanthropic organisations ?

Since 2005, the Donorinfo Foundation has published objective information on the activities and the financial means of philanthropic organisations. To this day, Donorinfo is the only independent institution in Belgium providing this type of information.

What can you find on donorinfo.be?

Independent information on more than 220 philanthropic organisations in Belgium, which help those in need in Belgium or elsewhere in the world.

Clear and uniformly presented information, in two sections:

• One section with independent and objective information about the aims, activities and needs of the organisation
• A financial section published in the spirit of complete transparency, and in the harmonised manner as established by Donorinfo. All financial information on donorinfo.be has been checked and validated by a company auditor, an IEC-certified public accountant or a IPCF-certified accountant. Smaller organisations, which do not have the funds to finance an audit of their accounts, can submit an application for funding from the Donorinfo Foundation (see conditions of publication).

You can select organisations on the basis of your favourite causes, by geographical location, by the size of the organisation or by percentage of grant received, and discover what each organisation considers to be its concrete requirements (e.g. volunteers or materials). This information is updated very regularly, according to the natural cycle of each organisation, and is verified on-the-ground by visits undertaken by the team at Donorinfo.

How does Donorinfo work?

Each organisation that meets the Donorinfo publication criteria can submit an application to be listed on the website. The services are provided by Donorinfo at no cost to the organisations themselves; they are free to decide whether to remain listed on donorinfo.be. The team at Donorinfo regularly visit each organisation to ensure that the information listed on donorinfo.be is an accurate reflection of the reality within the organisation.
